My recent stay at Mare Blu Villa was an unforgettable experience that far exceeded all my expectations for a luxury vacation. This opulent oceanfront villa in St. John offered not just comfort but extraordinary embrace of beauty and tranquility. March weather in St. John was perfect, with clear sunny skies and a gentle ocean breeze, which made every day at the villa purely delightful. The infinity edge pool, blending into the horizon, became my serene retreat. Lounging by the pool, I was treated to the villa’s breathtaking ocean views, which were nothing short of spectacular. The sight of the sun dipping below the ocean in the evening was a daily spectacle I looked forward to. The villa itself is just a short drive from some of the world’s top beach’s, which promised and delivered crystal-clean waters and pristine sands. Despite the allure of these famous beach’s, the luxury and comfort of Mare Blu made it tempting to stay put and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Every aspect of the villa, from its spacious and elegantly furnished interiors to its expansive terraces, seemed designed to ensure that guests would never want to leave. As my stay came to an end, I found myself wishing I could linger longer in what felt like a slice of paradise. Teri, we just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our vacation and appreciate you sharing your wonderful vacation home with our group the week of June 14. All of your suggestions about places to go and shops to visit were right on target. Our most fun times were spent back at Mare Blu in the evenings just enjoying the fellowship, the beautiful views and the five star facilities that ya'll have. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to vacation at Mare Blu again but Many thanks to you and Bernie for all you did to make this a special vacation for all of us. Teri and Bernie, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. It was the perfect place for our family, which included our children and grandchildren, to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. Each family had their own wing to escape to after a long day at the beach or play time in the beautiful pool. They especially enjoyed the optional outdoor shower. The gathering place each morning was the outdoor kitchen, where we enjoyed breakfast at the large table while looking at the ocean. One evening we hired a personal chef who cooked us a birthday celebration dinner and served it in the outdoor kitchen as well. We also hired a steel drum player. The indoor kitchen has everything you need, including two dishwashers an oversize refrigerator and a beautiful sink that had a window which again overlooked the ocean. There was also an outdoor TV room which was next to the pool. It had two oversized chairs and a beverage cooler which made it very convenient for keeping our drinks of "choice" cold. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse Club while standing in the pool. (What a life!). The bathroom was also part of this great area so there was no need to walk into the house. We also enjoyed gathering here in the evening where we would pull chairs around and watch movies outside. This was probably our favorite room. If you needed a space to escape for some quiet time there was the beautiful indoor living room which included a large balcony. Here we could enjoy our coffee in the morning or a quiet glass of wine in the evening away from the activity in the pool area. Of course during any vacation doing laundry is a must. I must admit doing laundry was a joy especially when doing it in a well stocked laundry room and again with a beautiful view of the ocean. Mare Blu was the perfect place for us and our wedding party to stay! First class, comfortable, beautifully and well appointed, spaces to come together or to spend quiet time...all with ever changing views of Rendezvous Bay or the Milky Way. We used recommendations from the Mare Blu website to connect with our planner (Paradise Planning), caterer (Passionfruit Chefs), and photographer (Blue Glass Photography)...all of whom exceeded our expectations. I can't say enough wonderful things about Mare Blu! Everything about this place is magical. Twelve of us spent a week here for my husband's 50th birthday celebration and had the time of our lives. This was our 5th stay on the island and by far the best. Mare Blu is perfectly spread out which made it SO comfortable for all of us. The pool was amazing - especially for the guys who watched Sunday football while floating:-) The owners were SO gracious and accommodating - no question was too small to ask. We stayed at Mare Blu with several friends and do not think it could have been more perfect. The villa is a short distance to town where we found great places to eat and to shop. The ocean views are spectacular from all the rooms and the outside living area. The kitchen is very special with every convenience imaginable. There are many special decorative details throughout the complex that are tastefully done to capture a modern yet tropical theme. The pool is definitely special and really like the no chlorine water. If you want to relax, and enjoy St. John in a very special setting, then Mare Blu is the perfect place. Read More...

LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. So many great and comfortable locations to relax and take in the sunrise and sunset or get some sun or shade. I cannot say enough great things about this home and can NOT wait to return. What can someone say who just had one of the greatest vacations of their entire life, besides "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart. My work life and career are incredibly exhausting. Being in the broadcast television business, there are no "off-days". Every single event we do is a moment in time that cannot be pushed back, extended or redone. The pressure, at times, can be overwhelming. Vacation for me has traditionally involved my family enjoying themselves with pool time, activities and relaxation. I spent the majority of my time on the phone, computer or conference calls. Not this trip. From the moment I walked down the stairs to your beautiful home, I felt every ounce of tension leave my body. The next seven days were nothing short of transformative for me. Every part of your home, from the pool to the kitchen to the outdoor shower, allowed me to completely "forget who I was" for a little while. An amazing feat that has never-before been accomplished! Justin was, well, amazing. His smile and welcoming presence on the dock to his patient and kind mannerisms to his outstanding recommendations of restaurants and boat captains was without parallel. He was an unexpected, albeit, welcomed part of the "Mare Blu Experience". It is not too often that I can say I was amazed by anything I've encountered. In my life, I have been at major sporting events, world renowned rock concerts and participated in things that most people only dream of. I find most other things in the world around me to be fairly mundane. My week at Mare Blu was amazing. While I am sure there are other houses in St. Johns that may have more bedrooms, bigger pools or finer artwork, I am confident in saying that none could have a more "spirited soul" than Mare Blu. As I sit here and contemplate heading to California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Atlanta over the next several weeks, it is the thought that I will be returning to St. John and Mare Blu in the future that brings a smile to my face and warm feeling to my heart. Our group (9 friends) stayed at Mare Blu in May 2015. We had a fantastic time and Teri was very helpful before the trip in arranging activities, a private chef, and taxi transfers. The villa is beautiful, with every amenity you could want - beer fridge by the pool was a big hit, as was the outdoor Ts! Check in was very easy and professional, taking no more than 15mins or so. The house was immaculate and perfectly arranged for a large group. There is so much space that we all felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The pictures are exactly as shown on the website and the house location is perfect. Far enough from town to have beautiful, untouched views across the island, yet close enough for a 10min taxi ride into the center of town. The northern beaches were also not that far away maybe 15-20mins in total. Chicos Taxi (Mitch Samuel at 340-690-6507) was on call for us the entire time and always just a phone call away. Chef Johnny B (jrbluzbag@yahoo.com) was fantastic and the food was cooked at the villas professional indoor/outdoor kitchen to perfection. The villa has every single thing a professional chef needs, and easily caters to large groups looking for a relaxing night overlooking the stunning views. Checkout was also easy, with a wonderful cleaning crew arriving exactly on time. We couldnt have been happier with our stay at Mare Blu and would be happy to act as a reference for any future guests. Elegant, comfortable, well-designed and well-appointed are just a few of the characteristics of Mare Blu on St. John. Our extended family - ranging in age from early teens to mid-seventies - had a wonderful time. The pool is both beautiful and useful for lap swimming and playing. The well-designed and well-supplied kitchen allowed the chefs, sous-chefs, and grill masters to express themselves. Cable and Wi-Fi allow connection - if desired - to the outside world. The villa owner and the house manager were available, attentive and very helpful. The design of the villa allows for privacy, for view-watching and for multiple simultaneous, non-interfering activities. There are lovely places to sit and take in the view, read or do puzzles. Although a few weeks have passed since our vacation at Mare Blu, the peaceful atmosphere, the elegant accommodations and the beautiful vistas are still top of mind. Read More...
