I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. Perfect Spot for Hosting our Dream Wedding The unsung hero award goes to Teri and Mare Blu. Not only did it make for the most picturesque backdrop for our wedding ceremony but our guests were in awe at beautiful and functional the villa was. Location was perfect for the sunset wedding ceremony as well as easy access to and from for our guests staying in and around Cruz Bay. Teri was not only active making sure the villa was in perfect condition for our visit but she was also a great resource for the months leading up to the wedding with recommendations for reliable jeep rental( Mr. Piper's) and restaurant recommendations. The layout of the space was ideal for any situation. We were able to host a 23 person rehearsal dinner with a long family style table in the great outdoor space. My brothers roasted us with a slideshow on the TV by the pool. All were able to huddle around and observe. Then we hosted a 37 person ceremony down on the lawn. Hi, just had to drop you a note to tell you how much we all LOVED your villa last week. Have been coming to St. John for 24 years, we LOVE the island and must say your home was the best EVER!! We were a group of six couples (family) and we were just blown away by the attention to every detail in your beautiful home!!! Best Family vacation ever. Shout out to Ellis who was incredibly responsive whenever we needed him, he is so great. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. I cannot think of one thing I would change about Mare Blu, not only does it live up to the pictures on the website but it's even more spectacular in person. When I first arrived it literally took my breathe away. The layout of the house is perfect for a group of people; the bedrooms are all equal each with spectacular views. The owners have done a sumptuous job of equipping the house, every time I wanted something it was at my fingertips. We spent all of our time in the beautiful outdoor living area, it was spacious enough for everyone to gather and enjoy each other's company and still feel as one group. We stayed at Mare Blu to celebrate my twin daughters' birthday. We could not have imagined a more perfect setting for a celebration! The villa is a convenient drive to town, nestled on the lush hillside of St. John's South Shore. The pictures do not lie, there are vast ocean vistas available from every room. Mare Blu is nothing like the typical St. John villa (we've seen many of them personally): it is vibrantly decorated with rich color and artwork. FANTASTIC HOUSE My family loved Mare Blu. There are 12 of us, the house was perfect. It was designed so everyone has space and the outdoor living room was wonderful. St. John has been our favorite vacation spot for many years, but this was our first home rental. It was beyond our expectations! Elegantly Comfortable & Amazing Where to begin? Mare Blu is absolutely beautiful. There's not one square foot that isn't perfectly decorated as well as functional! The kitchen (inside and outside) is completely stocked with any & everything you could possibly want...Suitable for a chef! The bedrooms are all so roomy and the decor is unbelievable! loved the bathrooms too...very spacious!! The pool area and sitting area by the outside dining table were our two most favorite hangouts!! Mare Blu provided a beautiful, serene setting for our recent 50th anniversary celebration with family. The manager met us promptly upon arrival and made us immediately feel at home. The villa was luxurious and so well-appointed that it would be difficult to want anything more. The large outdoor dining and indoor living areas created an atmosphere in which our family was able to enjoy memorable conversations and meals together without interruptions. And, the opportunity to enjoy a cup of early-morning coffee on the patio or to swim under the stars in a pool overlooking the ocean was priceless. The downside of this trip was that it was far too short. A week just wasn't long enough to fully experience the beautiful scenery and uncrowded beaches that St. John has to offer.
