Our last family vacation was 26 years ago but our trip to Mare Blu was well worth the wait. As we walked down the steps to the villa it got very quiet and the family members just looked at each other. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. The view was absolutely spectacular.Then 7 kids jumped into the pool and our vacation began. The pictures that you see on line show how beautiful the villa is, but they do not show the warmth and coziness that is Mare Blu. It is so spacious that even though there were 7 adults and 7 teens we all had our privacy and didn't ever get in each others way. But with the fabulous layout we were also together. I hope that makes sense. Our mornings were spent having breakfast together at the outdoor table with some relaxing in the pool and others reading along side it. We ate in every night thanks to my sons in law who are closeted chefs and the well appointed kitchen. The location of Mare Blu is just perfect. We were close to the beaches and the town but away from the bustle of both. Our host Teri had mentioned that we might find that we wanted to stay at the villa and she was right. While the snorkelers of the group went exploring the beaches the lazy ones relaxed at the villa and never felt deprived. We will not wait another 26 years to go on vacation together. This is our fourth time staying here, second time staying for New Years, and we could not have asked for a better place to begin in 2022. The skies and water were clear and blue, perfect weather to get a tan! ( back at home -Chicago we are getting 7 inches of snow! We have enjoyed getting to go to town as well as use your amazing kitchen for dinner. We have made so many memories here, including an iguana running into the pool! OUTSTANDING WEEK at Mare Blu We have stayed in a number of villas during our many visits to St. John. I believe that Mare Blu was one of the best, if not the best villa we have ever stayed in. To begin with, the Views are fantastic. Even the ubiquitous telephone wire didn't get in the way. The place is well equipped with tableware, glassware, water toys, beach chairs, etc.. The villa is in a good location, close to town. It was very clean.There are two large common areas for our group to all get together. And most importantly, the beds were GREAT! We had nine people in our group: seniors, adults, a teenager and kids. There is a choice of bedrooms, so that the seniors didn't have to climb a lot of stairs and people can be isolated when they want to be. We were there during Carnival week and ate in a few nights. Mare Blu was amazing! Expectations were exceeded! You often wonder if it can be as great as the pictures. Mare Blu is amazing. The views would make any postcard jealous. The bedrooms were specious with their own luxurious bathrooms. The outdoor entertainment areas and the infinity pool made it hard to leave to go explore the spectacular island of St. John. Our week at Mare Blu with dear friends will top the list of vacations of a lifetime. We say that with all sincerity as frequent global travelers. Villa was perfect for our family. The villa was beautiful and fully met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our children and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together and areas to get away and read. Teri & Bernie We really appreciate your extending the date for us to visit your spectacular villa when the pandemic hit last year. The wait made us even more excited when we arrived. Went to most of the beaches within the park, chartered a power boat, swam with the turtles and laid back on the best sand on the planet.
