Great House!...Great Island!...Great Time! Mare Blu was the perfect home for our families to enjoy while at St. John. We had the opportunity to bring our friends and their kids to St. john for their first visit to the island. Teri & Bernie were tremendously helpful upfront and their advice was extremely helpful and accurate. Their home was laid out perfectly for our two families and kids (6 kids under the age of 10). We had plenty of room to spread out but there is also great outdoor space to hang out together. The outdoor kitchen and pool area is perfect for families to enjoy meals and to just hang out and relax. They truly thought out everything when they designed the layout. We were very pleased with the location as well. It was a short drive to town and to the North Shore beaches. Their property manager was also very accommodating while we were there. We arrived almost 6 hours late due to travel issues and they kindly did a quick store run for us so that we had the essentials for the kids breakfast the following morning. Hi Guys I hope you are doing well. We are in St. John this week and drive by Mare Blu everyday as the house we rented is past Mare Blu. We are a group of 17 people. Same group as last year plus one additional family. We are having a great time, but DEFINITELY MISS Mare Blu. The house we rented is called Eco Serendib. Many nice amenities BUT THE Mare Blu EXPERIANCE AND LIVING AREA'S ARE MUCH MUCH BETTER. Just wanted to let you know we are down here and will continue to recommend Mare Blu to anyone who asks. Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mare Blu. This was our 5th trip to St. John with a group of 10 people. Mare Blu is easily the most serene, equipped, modern and luxurious villa we've visited. From the library of DVD's, to the outdoor grill and seating areas, to the gourmet kitchen and wonderful no chlorine infinity pool, every thing was top rate. Villa was perfect for our family. The villa was beautiful and fully met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our children and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together and areas to get away and read. Teri Ackerman, the owner of Mare Blu, is the best. She is extremely competent and easy to work with. Her understanding of families and how memories are made are reflected in the design of her villa. The kitchen, grilling area, dining area and gathering space all followed together as one beautiful family area which then seamlessly flowed to the deck and pool (what a great pool). I would be grilling and having a conversation with my wife Debby in the kitchen, turn and talk to my daughter at the dining room table as she showed me photos from the days dive, turn just a little more and watch my grandson in the pool. It does not get any better than that. Yet Teri created a place of sanctuary in each bedroom. They are spacious and almost mini suites as there is setting areas in each bedroom. Teri left no stone unturned in equipping the villa with top of the line appliances. Her ice maker keep ahead of 12 people. Enough dishes, glasses etc. to meet the needs of a group of 20 or more. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. Amazing The house was amazing and we loved that there were so many fans to keep you comfortable during afternoons in the outdoor living spaces, and they have the comfiest beds for the best naps. Pictures can't do this fabulous villa justice! Everything is absolutely perfect from the amazing lounge chairs by the infinity pool to the decor and artwork. This contemporary villa is made for relaxation in the best of style. The bedrooms are super comfortable, the linens are plush, each bedroom has its own private bath and doors you can open to feel the ocean breezes. The kitchens, both outdoor and indoor are expertly stocked with all necessities. The entertainment system is great and adds to the overall experience. One of our favorite things about Mare Blu is that from every room and the patio the view of the Caribbean is spectacular. We can't say enough about the vacation we had at Mare Blu. As if the fabulous house and great location on St. John isn't enough, the landscaping is awesome, too. We even had fresh limes from the tree in our drinks. I'm just looking over the photo album of my daughter's wedding, last August, and Mare Blu was the absolute highlight of our week. We hosted 25 people every evening for a party where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were able to do our own cooking, the views are breathtaking, and most of the guests just wanted to hang around the pool. The Westin Hotel took care of the wedding ceremony and reception but everything else was at Mare Blu. It would be my first choice for vacation or any kind of celebration at any time of the year. We remain so grateful to the owners of the house for their generosity. It was even more spectacular than we imagined and one of the highlights of our entire lives! Since 6 couples chipped in, the cost was much less than the local hotels and we did not have to eat out every night. My family will definitely go back to St. John, specifically for Mare Blu.
