From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. Our group of 11 (7 adults and 4 kids under 8 years old) had a fantastic time staying at Mare Blu this February. The house was as described and depicted and was perfect for our needs - from the huge outdoor lounge area where we spent every morning and evening, gorgeous pool with even better views and separate bedrooms with en suite bathrooms - we had enough space to get together as well as enough space to get alone time when we needed it. As big foodies and home cooks, we were shocked and thrilled with how well-stocked the kitchen was and appreciated having two dishwashers after big family meals at the huge table on the patio. Mare Blu is well designed and in a great location. We have been spending a week or more on St. John for almost 25 years and after recently staying a week at Mare Blu Villa would rate it as one of our favorites. The owner, Teri Ackerman, was very flexible and easy to work with and personally followed up both during and after our stay to make sure we were happy. The Villa is easy driving distance from Cruz Bay and faces south above Monte and Rendezvous Bays, so it is easy to sit in the outdoor areas both morning and afternoon without the sun shining directly in your face. Pictures can't do this fabulous villa justice! Everything is absolutely perfect from the amazing lounge chairs by the infinity pool to the decor and artwork. This contemporary villa is made for relaxation in the best of style. The bedrooms are super comfortable, the linens are plush, each bedroom has its own private bath and doors you can open to feel the ocean breezes. The kitchens, both outdoor and indoor are expertly stocked with all necessities. The entertainment system is great and adds to the overall experience. One of our favorite things about Mare Blu is that from every room and the patio the view of the Caribbean is spectacular. We can't say enough about the vacation we had at Mare Blu. Our last family vacation was 26 years ago but our trip to Mare Blu was well worth the wait. As we walked down the steps to the villa it got very quiet and the family members just looked at each other. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. The view was absolutely spectacular.Then 7 kids jumped into the pool and our vacation began. The pictures that you see on line show how beautiful the villa is, but they do not show the warmth and coziness that is Mare Blu. It is so spacious that even though there were 7 adults and 7 teens we all had our privacy and didn't ever get in each others way. But with the fabulous layout we were also together. I hope that makes sense. Our mornings were spent having breakfast together at the outdoor table with some relaxing in the pool and others reading along side it. We ate in every night thanks to my sons in law who are closeted chefs and the well appointed kitchen. The location of Mare Blu is just perfect. We were close to the beaches and the town but away from the bustle of both. Our host Teri had mentioned that we might find that we wanted to stay at the villa and she was right. While the snorkelers of the group went exploring the beaches the lazy ones relaxed at the villa and never felt deprived. We will not wait another 26 years to go on vacation together. I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. A Slice of Paradise-The Perfect Goup Getaway Mare Blu Villa is pure magic. We recently stayed here with three other couples(two of whom brought their babies), and every single one of us left completely blown away by the experience. The villa is beautifully designed-every detail feel intentional, luxurious and welcoming. Each couple had their own spacious private suite, which gave everyone space to unwind while still being able to enjoy time together. It’s rare to find a place that offers that perfect blend of privacy and shared space, but Mare Blu nails it. Days were spent swimming in the pool, sipping cocktails made with fresh bananas from the property, soaking in the sunshine. Watching the Super Bowl from the pool was an unforgettable highlight-definitely one for the memory books! Evenings were magical-we’d gather under the cabana to play games, share stories, and listen to the sounds of the island. It felt like our own private resort, tucked away in paradise. The babies in our group had an amazing time too-plenty of safe space to explore and splash around, which made the trip even more special. Mare Blu Villa exceeded every expectation.
