Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mare Blu. This was our 5th trip to St. John with a group of 10 people. Mare Blu is easily the most serene, equipped, modern and luxurious villa we've visited. Our extended family (13 of us) were looking for a great place to celebrate my Father's 75th birthday and my wife was lucky enough to stumble across the Mare Blue website. The spectacular pictures on the web site convinced us that this would be a perfect location, but believe me that they can't come close to capturing the true beauty and magic of this wonderful villa. We had committed to rent the villa and the transaction was completed, but once the owner knew that the entire trip was to celebrate my father's birthday, she was so helpful and kind; she basically became our travel agent and helped make all the plans as simple as possible for us. We had such an unbelievable stay at the Mare Blue. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. We couldn't have asked for more. Teri Ackerman, the owner of Mare Blu, is the best. She is extremely competent and easy to work with. Her understanding of families and how memories are made are reflected in the design of her villa. The kitchen, grilling area, dining area and gathering space all followed together as one beautiful family area which then seamlessly flowed to the deck and pool (what a great pool). I would be grilling and having a conversation with my wife Debby in the kitchen, turn and talk to my daughter at the dining room table as she showed me photos from the days dive, turn just a little more and watch my grandson in the pool. It does not get any better than that. Yet Teri created a place of sanctuary in each bedroom. They are spacious and almost mini suites as there is setting areas in each bedroom. Amazing The house was amazing and we loved that there were so many fans to keep you comfortable during afternoons in the outdoor living spaces, and they have the comfiest beds for the best naps. Loved it. First quality amenities from top to bottom. We have stayed in St John several times and this villa was the finest quality home we have stayed in. Great pool that was a joy to cool off in late in the afternoon after a glorious day at the beach. The outdoor room was the gathering point every evening for rum punch and, eventually, dinner. Finally, the bedrooms were a quiet sanctuary. This goes back to quality of this villa. When you closed a door in your bedroom you felt tucked in for the night. SMARTLY DESIGNED, SPACIOUS, LUXURIOUS...MARE BLU HAS IT ALL The week I recently spent with friends at the Mare Blu Villa was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. Tucked away in a private corner of Rendezveau Bay, Mare Blu is just a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay, balancing accessibility and convenience with lavish seclusion. With six bedrooms and nearly 10,000 square feet of space, the resort comfortably accommodated our group of seven guests. I found the villa to have everything we needed, and we even elected to spend a couple days of our 8-day trip hanging out at Mare Blu instead of goin to one of the many neighboring beaches. Among the many smartly designed areas of the villa, I found the pool area to be my favorite part of the house. With a fridge, ice machine and HDTV located in an outdoor lounge area, we had access to everything we needed just a few steps away from the pool. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and uniquely themed with some of the rooms boasting outdoor showers. We cooked dinner several nights in the kitchen, which had modern top-of-the line appliances and a cozy outdoor dining area. In January, my husband and I spent a week at Mare Blu with several other couples. I was absolutely awestruck the first time I set foot in this striking vacation home. Everywhere you look there are spectacular ocean views framed in brilliant color by a rambling garden of native plants. These stunning views not only extended to our bedroom with the private screened porch but beyond to our luxurious bathroom with the outdoor shower. Every room is beautifully furnished and decorated yet sill inviting and comfortable. And you can't have too many cooks in the kitchen here. The kitchen is big, beautiful and has every imaginable moder convenience, including two dishwashers and every pot, pan, gadget, and utensil one could ever need or want..and then some. I loved this kitchen so much that it actually inspired me to bake on my vacation, an unprecedented event. At the center of Mare Blu is an enormous outdoor patio filled with cozy lounge chairs, chaises and couches We spent much of our time in this wonderful space...reading, swimming, eating and socializing while taking in the beauty of the Caribbean. My husband, beer in hand, found his personal heaven-on-earth while watching football on the outdoor big screen from a float in the pool. "It doesn't get better than this" he said. Mare Blu was the perfect place for us and our wedding party to stay! First class, comfortable, beautifully and well appointed, spaces to come together or to spend quiet time...all with ever changing views of Rendezvous Bay or the Milky Way. We used recommendations from the Mare Blu website to connect with our planner (Paradise Planning), caterer (Passionfruit Chefs), and photographer (Blue Glass Photography)...all of whom exceeded our expectations. 7/14-7/21 4 adults, 2 children, ages 5 and 15 months Our time at Mare Blu was perfect and amazingly restful. The main house living area was very comfortable and the kitchen is probably better appointed than your own home with drink glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery for every taste, shape and size. We seldomly went to town and did our cooking, drinking and concocting at the villa. The kitchen and outdoor cooking area, complete with its own set of plastic break proof glasses and cooking utensils, made staying in a pleasure. In the evening we put the kids to bed and played cards in the various outdoor lounges and listened to music or just the natural surrounding chirping away. The bed rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms are all beautiful. I opted for the outdoor showers most days. In regards to hosts, Teri was amazingly attentive during the booking phase, in the weeks leading up to departure and she even called on the second day to be sure we were enjoying ourselves and to answer any questions. In regards to the onsite property manager, Justin, all I can say is he is worth every dime. Justin met us at our boat, led us to Mare Blu and spent an hour walking the property with us to show us all of the nooks and crannies. Throughout the week we had a few questions and Justin would give us info or go about helping us track down what we were looking for. "You want lobsters? I know a fishing boat captain.
