Our extended family (13 of us) were looking for a great place to celebrate my Father's 75th birthday and my wife was lucky enough to stumble across the Mare Blue website. The spectacular pictures on the web site convinced us that this would be a perfect location, but believe me that they can't come close to capturing the true beauty and magic of this wonderful villa. We had committed to rent the villa and the transaction was completed, but once the owner knew that the entire trip was to celebrate my father's birthday, she was so helpful and kind; she basically became our travel agent and helped make all the plans as simple as possible for us. We had such an unbelievable stay at the Mare Blue. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. We couldn't have asked for more. OUTSTANDING WEEK at Mare Blu We have stayed in a number of villas during our many visits to St. John. I believe that Mare Blu was one of the best, if not the best villa we have ever stayed in. To begin with, the Views are fantastic. Even the ubiquitous telephone wire didn't get in the way. The place is well equipped with tableware, glassware, water toys, beach chairs, etc.. The villa is in a good location, close to town. It was very clean.There are two large common areas for our group to all get together. And most importantly, the beds were GREAT! We had nine people in our group: seniors, adults, a teenager and kids. There is a choice of bedrooms, so that the seniors didn't have to climb a lot of stairs and people can be isolated when they want to be. We were there during Carnival week and ate in a few nights. We had the pleasure of spending a week at the spectacular Mare Blu in April for spring break with two other families. It was spacious and beautifully appointed with an absolutely breathtaking view. Mare Blu proved to be the perfect home for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015. We have visited St. John before, and this trip was by far the most memorable and luxurious. The villa was close enough to town but far enough to provide seclusion and a gorgeous view of the bay. The villa itself was very well appointed from the kitchen to entertainment, offering everything you might need. I was able to easily prepare meals that we enjoyed around the large dining table. The second outdoor kitchen area and outdoor fridge drawers were terrific. The spacious guest suites allowed everyone to retreat to their own space if they wanted privacy or alone time. There was ample room for our family of 9 adults! The beautiful pool was also a huge hit. Teri was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. Our family of 13 loved Mare Blu Villa. We stayed a total of 13 nights (my husband and I 4 nights earlier than the rest) and everyone was sad to leave.We had so much space and loved the beautiful views wherever you happened to be on the property. FANTASTIC FAMILY RENTAL!!! This gorgeous house was very spacious and extremely well equipped-perfect for our extended family vacation. The outdoor living spaces were wonderful for enjoying the incredible views and island breezes-we ate every meal outside. The design, decor and furnishings were top notch-it was clear that much thought went into every design decision. The kitchen was amazing, perfectly planned and equipped with everything we needed to create delicious meals. We loved spending time in the pool and lounge area. A Slice of Paradise-The Perfect Goup Getaway Mare Blu Villa is pure magic. We recently stayed here with three other couples(two of whom brought their babies), and every single one of us left completely blown away by the experience. The villa is beautifully designed-every detail feel intentional, luxurious and welcoming. Each couple had their own spacious private suite, which gave everyone space to unwind while still being able to enjoy time together. It’s rare to find a place that offers that perfect blend of privacy and shared space, but Mare Blu nails it. Days were spent swimming in the pool, sipping cocktails made with fresh bananas from the property, soaking in the sunshine. Watching the Super Bowl from the pool was an unforgettable highlight-definitely one for the memory books! Evenings were magical-we’d gather under the cabana to play games, share stories, and listen to the sounds of the island. It felt like our own private resort, tucked away in paradise.
