What can someone say who just had one of the greatest vacations of their entire life, besides "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart. My work life and career are incredibly exhausting. Being in the broadcast television business, there are no "off-days". Every single event we do is a moment in time that cannot be pushed back, extended or redone. The pressure, at times, can be overwhelming. Vacation for me has traditionally involved my family enjoying themselves with pool time, activities and relaxation. I spent the majority of my time on the phone, computer or conference calls. Not this trip. From the moment I walked down the stairs to your beautiful home, I felt every ounce of tension leave my body. The next seven days were nothing short of transformative for me. Every part of your home, from the pool to the kitchen to the outdoor shower, allowed me to completely "forget who I was" for a little while. An amazing feat that has never-before been accomplished! Justin was, well, amazing. His smile and welcoming presence on the dock to his patient and kind mannerisms to his outstanding recommendations of restaurants and boat captains was without parallel. He was an unexpected, albeit, welcomed part of the "Mare Blu Experience". It is not too often that I can say I was amazed by anything I've encountered. In my life, I have been at major sporting events, world renowned rock concerts and participated in things that most people only dream of. I find most other things in the world around me to be fairly mundane. My week at Mare Blu was amazing. While I am sure there are other houses in St. Johns that may have more bedrooms, bigger pools or finer artwork, I am confident in saying that none could have a more "spirited soul" than Mare Blu. As I sit here and contemplate heading to California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Atlanta over the next several weeks, it is the thought that I will be returning to St. John and Mare Blu in the future that brings a smile to my face and warm feeling to my heart. My recent stay at Mare Blu Villa was an unforgettable experience that far exceeded all my expectations for a luxury vacation. This opulent oceanfront villa in St. John offered not just comfort but extraordinary embrace of beauty and tranquility. March weather in St. John was perfect, with clear sunny skies and a gentle ocean breeze, which made every day at the villa purely delightful. Pictures can't do this fabulous villa justice! Everything is absolutely perfect from the amazing lounge chairs by the infinity pool to the decor and artwork. This contemporary villa is made for relaxation in the best of style. The bedrooms are super comfortable, the linens are plush, each bedroom has its own private bath and doors you can open to feel the ocean breezes. The kitchens, both outdoor and indoor are expertly stocked with all necessities. The entertainment system is great and adds to the overall experience. One of our favorite things about Mare Blu is that from every room and the patio the view of the Caribbean is spectacular. We can't say enough about the vacation we had at Mare Blu. As if the fabulous house and great location on St. John isn't enough, the landscaping is awesome, too. We even had fresh limes from the tree in our drinks. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. So many great and comfortable locations to relax and take in the sunrise and sunset or get some sun or shade. I cannot say enough great things about this home and can NOT wait to return. I'm just looking over the photo album of my daughter's wedding, last August, and Mare Blu was the absolute highlight of our week. We hosted 25 people every evening for a party where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were able to do our own cooking, the views are breathtaking, and most of the guests just wanted to hang around the pool. The Westin Hotel took care of the wedding ceremony and reception but everything else was at Mare Blu. It would be my first choice for vacation or any kind of celebration at any time of the year. We remain so grateful to the owners of the house for their generosity. It was even more spectacular than we imagined and one of the highlights of our entire lives! Since 6 couples chipped in, the cost was much less than the local hotels and we did not have to eat out every night. My family will definitely go back to St. John, specifically for Mare Blu. 7/14-7/21 4 adults, 2 children, ages 5 and 15 months Our time at Mare Blu was perfect and amazingly restful. The main house living area was very comfortable and the kitchen is probably better appointed than your own home with drink glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery for every taste, shape and size. We seldomly went to town and did our cooking, drinking and concocting at the villa. The kitchen and outdoor cooking area, complete with its own set of plastic break proof glasses and cooking utensils, made staying in a pleasure. In the evening we put the kids to bed and played cards in the various outdoor lounges and listened to music or just the natural surrounding chirping away. The bed rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms are all beautiful. I opted for the outdoor showers most days. In regards to hosts, Teri was amazingly attentive during the booking phase, in the weeks leading up to departure and she even called on the second day to be sure we were enjoying ourselves and to answer any questions. In regards to the onsite property manager, Justin, all I can say is he is worth every dime. Justin met us at our boat, led us to Mare Blu and spent an hour walking the property with us to show us all of the nooks and crannies. Throughout the week we had a few questions and Justin would give us info or go about helping us track down what we were looking for. "You want lobsters? I know a fishing boat captain. We're still a little shocked at just how amazing Mare Blu is. From design, to service, to location, this place has it all. The layout is perfect for small or large groups: There are comfortable and functional commons areas like the kitchen and outdoor eating area, but there is also sanctuary for any guest in each of the wings and bedrooms. This means that if you want to retire early, you won't be disturbed by the night-owls - it also means that the kids won't wake everyone up when they want to go swimming at 7am. The kitchen and BBQ were amazing - we put them to great use! The infinity pool was also incredible - the kids went swimming in the pool no less than 3x/day - and what a view! Also, the media room that overlooked the pool was well-stocked with DVD's and access to hundreds of channels. Finally, it was the small design details that made Mare Blu such a pleasure - from the colors, to skylights, to placement of certain rooms and amenities - it was obvious that quite a bit of thought went into design. Our hosts were amazing - from the owner to the concierge. They were highly responsive, friendly and accommodating. Justin is great - he tried his best to find us some fresh fish! Some of us have been to St. John before so we knew our way around - but if it's your first time, you'll be in great hands. Additionally, everything was well-stocked and prepared for a first-class visit. Finally, the location was perfect, we were just close enough to town or the market for a quick trip - but far enough away to enjoy the views and tranquility that the island is known for.
